One of the highlights of my summer was being amongst one of the first to photograph a Snow King Mountain Resort wedding. I’ve hiked to the top of Snow King several times now, but photographing a wedding at the top of the mountain was so much fun! Set at the base of Snow King Mountain Resort, where the Tetons rise quietly in the distance and the town of Jackson hums just below, weddings here feel equal parts adventurous and refined. It’s a place where mountaintop ceremonies, golden-hour chairlift rides, and crisp alpine air create an experience that’s truly unforgettable. In this Q&A, we’re diving into the details couples actually care about. Starting with logistics to little luxuries, you can start to envision what a wedding at Snow King might truly feel like.

(Framing how the wedding feels from arrival to final toast)
Snow King Mountain Resort is highly flexible and can comfortably accommodate a wide range of wedding sizes. For a seated dinner, the ideal guest count is up to approximately 200 guests. For larger celebrations, we are able to host events of up to 300 guests. This can happen when the reception is designed in a more cocktail-style or partially seated format.
The space is equally well suited for more intimate weddings. For groups of 40–100 guests, the layout allows for a beautifully scaled experience where guests can dine together on the patio or within a single, cohesive space, creating an intimate and connected atmosphere. Our team customizes each layout based on guest count, flow, and event style to ensure the space always feels intentional, comfortable, and well balanced. This flexibility allows couples to design anything from an elegant, formal dinner to a high-energy celebration without feeling constrained by the venue.
Guests arrive at the base of the gondola, where we often recommend hosting a welcome bar for a welcome drink prior to loading. From there, guests ride the gondola more than 1,500 feet above the Town of Jackson, enjoying a scenic ascent with expansive views of town, the Grand Tetons, and the entire Teton Range. Upon arrival at the summit, guests walk approximately 80 yards to our beautiful ceremony site, tucked into the trees and offering sweeping mountain views. The reception space is located adjacent to the gondola terminal. Most areas are accessed by stairs, though an elevator is available if needed. From start to finish, the arrival experience is immersive and scenic, with incredible views throughout the entire journey.
We have a large event tent available that can accommodate ceremonies in the case of persistent inclement weather. The tent is located along the edge of the mountain and features clear front panels that can remain closed or be opened, depending on the couple’s and photographer’s preference. This allows us to maintain a beautiful setting while still showcasing the sweeping Teton views.
Yes, we have a private dining room that can be used as a getting-ready space at the couple’s discretion. It includes tables and chairs, a full-length mirror, a clothing rack, a Frame TV, a private bathroom, and large windows showcasing sweeping Teton views.
There are multiple parking lots with complimentary parking adjacent to the base of the gondola. Nearby street parking is available as well.

(What’s provided—and what sets the experience apart)
The rental fee includes the ceremony site and the Summit House. It also includes the gondola fee for event access (gondola access is not exclusive). Also included are 60” round tables, black cross-back chairs, linens and napkins, along with all dinnerware, glassware, and flatware. Clients also have access to our full inventory of standard restaurant furniture. Heating and/or umbrellas for outdoor spaces are not provided and must be brought in.
Yes, tables, linens, chairs, plates, silverware, and glassware are all provided. Couples are also welcome to bring in specialty items or additional rentals if they’d like to further customize the look and feel of their event.

We are fully licensed to provide alcohol service. All food and beverage service is handled in-house by the incredible team behind Aurora Restaurant.
We have a microphone and a built-in sound system on the Aurora level for speeches. That said, most couples utilize the audio equipment provided by their band or DJ for the reception.

(Where logistics meet creative freedom)
We do require couples to work with a full-service, accredited wedding planner. Beyond that, couples are welcome to hire vendors based on their planner’s recommendations. There is no required preferred vendor list.
Yes, furniture can be moved, and layouts are fully customizable for each couple. They’re welcome to use our round tables and restaurant furniture, bring in specialty pieces, or do a mix of both. We love creating layouts that are tailored to each couple’s guest count, preferences, and overall design vision.
Candles are permitted as long as the flame is fully enclosed. Food trucks are not allowed, as all catering is provided in-house. Confetti and sparklers are generally not permitted. However, in rare cases and depending on the materials and setup, we may be able to consider an exception.
We do not have decor.
To secure a date, we require a signed contract and a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the event. Any additional charges incurred during the event, including alcohol consumption or approved add-ons, will be invoiced and due immediately following the event.

Interrupting your scroll to bring you some sweet words from my bride. After each wedding, I send out a questionnaire where I love learning more about the intimate details that went into planning the wedding and highlights certain parts of the wedding day from the bride’s point of view. Here are some words of wisdom I love from Kelsey.
I asked her to describe her wedding day in her own words. She said, “Our wedding was the perfect harmony of western charm and modern elegance, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Tetons. Every detail was intentionally personal, from untraditional ceremony music featuring Coldplay and the Goo Goo Dolls, to our beloved pug serving as ring bearer, to a surprise duet from my father and sister that brought the dance floor to life. When it came to the reception, our vision was to create an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and unforgettable. We wanted the western spirit of Jackson, but paired with an elevated bar, dramatic lighting, and high-energy vibe of a Miami club. Guests were led from cocktail hour to the dance floor by our band in a lively New Orleans–style second line, horns and all, a perfect prelude to a night of laughter and nonstop dancing.
Everyone will have an opinion—smile, nod, and then do exactly what you want. Don’t stress about making it perfect; if it feels like you, it will be.”

At the end of the day, a Snow King Mountain Resort wedding is about more than just a beautiful setting. It’s about crafting an experience that feels immersive, intentional, and deeply personal. If you’re drawn to the idea of celebrating in the mountains with a blend of elevated design and natural beauty, this venue offers a canvas that’s both versatile and undeniably striking. And if you’re dreaming of those fleeting, in-between moments captured on film, the wind moving through a veil, the last light settling over the peaks, I’d love to help tell that story in a way that feels as timeless as the landscape itself. For couples seeking a thoughtful, artful documentation of their wedding weekend, I invite you to inquire for availability here.
