Trail Creek Ranch is one of the “hidden gem” wedding venues of Jackson Hole. Whenever I get the opportunity to collaborate on a Trail Creek Ranch wedding, I definitely don’t turn it down. Think horses in the corals during cocktail hour, live music on the ranch, the coziest, luxe cabins for you and your loved ones coming to celebrate, and endless green fields surrounding your celebration, making it feel very secluded. That’s exactly what Trail Creek Ranch is all about, and I love the vibes it offers. In this blog, I’ll share all about R+B’s Trail Creek Ranch wedding from this past summer, and give you a little bit of information for some inspo for your Jackson Hole wedding.
R+B’s Trail Creek Ranch Wedding Details
After each wedding, I send out a questionnaire to my couples, asking for a few specific details. Enjoy reading more about the thought process behind R+B’s wedding weekend at Trail Creek Ranch!
Exactly as it was 🙂 small, intimate and beautiful. B and I are big travelers and really bonded through international backpacking trips etc. We always knew it would be a destination wedding with just our closest people. We wanted the wedding to be a celebration of love and to spend time with our people for more than just one day, and that’s exact what we did! Guests arrived to the ranch on Thursday, where we grilled and played corn hole. Friday morning, we all hiked Jenny lake before rehearsing and then attending our welcome party at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on Friday evening. The Theme was cowboys & cocktails. We danced the night away, and it was so fun seeing everyone before the big day! Saturday was wedding day! Then we finished off Sunday at a breakfast spot in Wilson right outside the ranch with our closest people before heading to the airport. I knew it would have a lot of sentimental touches but yet feel homey and chill. All while keeping the guest experience thoughtful and elevated.
Ethereal, heavy greenery with slight pops of color, timeless, modern western. Or I say (whimsical western).
We handwrote thank you cards to each guest and used this as a way for guests to find their seat. We felt it was important to make each guest feel special for making the trip from Texas/Tennessee all the way to WY. We are so grateful for how people showed up for us and felt all the love. We hand wrapped our cigars with our logos for the cigar bar! So easy and added a little touch! The Polaroid camera book was so fun to look back at the photos and messages from everyone 🙂
Favorite Moments and Details
All of it hahah. But to pick a few. – the family style dinner. It was everything I wanted and more. I wanted that intimate family dinner and that’s what we got. I remember looking at my little sister while at dinner saying “I can’t believe this is my wedding” The dancing! We had the BEST band and everyone was on the dance floor all night! Even my 92-year-old papa. Another thing was the custom cigar bar. Highly recommend if you’re doing an elevated western wedding. This was a hit and so fun! Another favorite was the horse send off at cocktail hour. Are you kidding! With the live music in the background. Amazing.
For our cake, I knew we wanted something small and simple. Brandon LOVES apple pies, so we instead asked chef Renee to prepare hand held apple pies for dessert and instead had a small white cake to cut. The cake tasted amazing! My gown was by Alexandra Grecco, purchased at Lovely Bride in Dallas, TX. We added custom sleeves to add to that ethereal feel. I loved changing from the veil to the custom Kemo Sabe cowgirl hat for the reception.
FUN! So much laughter and love. Genuine peace, love & happiness. I was surprised at how peaceful I felt. I was so happy that day and took in every minute. It felt authentic and like a big party with all my closest people.
Some Advice From the Bride
People say not to focus on the little things. I disagree, the little things are what I loved most about my wedding, and the guests did too. Give yourself plenty of time to plan! I promise it’s worth it. It will relieve so much stress and let you actually have time to decide things. On the day of, don’t worry about things going right or wrong. If you have fun, that’s what people remember. You set the mood! But giving yourself ample time to plan really helps alleviate any of the stressed, rushed decisions you may regret. GET A WEDDING PLANNER. Cannot say this enough. My wedding planner Sarah Condon at Vibrant Events was outstanding. I was able to be so relaxed and just enjoy the process because of her 🙂
Shout out to the best freakin people. Trail Creek Ranch (Alex and her whole family, wow. Amazing people. No words.) Sarah Condon (My wedding planner! Nothing would’ve happened without her, and I am so grateful for her). Adrian (I will NEVER get over the gift she gave me before leaving the wedding. I cry thinking about it). Chef Renee! People raved about her food and her team was fantastic! So easy to work with and truly cares about her work! Wild Wagon Saloon (the staff was amazing! If they ever saw Brandon or myself without a drink, they were there to hand us one. Just so amazing). Christian Reed and the band. The best band! So fun & so versatile! Isaac Hayden (HIRE him! He was phenomenal for ceremony & cocktail hour!) Backlight Creative for videography, they were so adaptable the day of and truly made both Brandon and I feel so comfortable! Canvas, JH Event Rentals & Table Manners all PHENOMENAL!
