You’re engaged!!! Congrats!! I’m so happy for you and hope you’ll find this article helpful as you begin the planning process. If you’re an adventurous couple and love the outdoors and mountains and want gorgeous photos, I’d love nothing more than to be your Jackson Hole engagement photographer! My calendar fills up on a first come, first served basis, so fill out this form and let’s talk details about engagement photos. I’m asked all the time about the best locations for engagement photos, as well as what outfits will photograph the best in these locations, so let’s get to it!
First off, the options are almost endless when it comes to the best Jackson Hole engagement photo locations. Do you want a fun, downtown, Cowboy Bar vibe? Or would you rather a beautiful mountain view with the Tetons? There’s obviously no wrong answer here. It totally depends on your personality and preference! My four favorite locations for engagement photos are:
I love the western vibes you can get right in Downtown Jackson Hole. The Cowboy Bar and Antler Arch, as well as some cute shops with a lot of personality, make your photos look freaking amazing. Never underestimate photos in Downtown, I promise they won’t disappoint.
The Snake River Overlook is my most favorite during the fall because of the golden colors that are surrounding the banks of the Snake River, however it’s truly beautiful all year long. An early morning shoot at the Snake River Overlook is worth it, because of the beautiful colors that paint the sky. You can’t go wrong at this location!
One of the most popular locations for photos is definitely Schwabacher Landing, but for good reason. The foliage is always beautiful, especially in summer and fall. You get a straight on view of the Tetons and there is a lot of diversity, as far as scenery goes. You’ll also get the most beautiful reflection of the Teton Mountains in the clear, still water of the Snake River.
If you’re looking for a beach in the middle of the mountains, Leigh Lake is your place. It’s beyond beautiful in the summer and the water is super shallow, which makes it fun! I love shooting here.
Outfit planning can be stressful for photos, but I gotchu! Neutrals always look the best outdoors, where you’ll have pops of greens, tans, blues, wildflowers, etc. in nature. I love a classy, dressy outfit for your save the dates and invites. You can definitely bring more than one option for some variety in your photos as well. Denim, tan and cream are my all time favorite combo. I’ve got some inspiration boards put together if you need a visual aid. These help guide couples in the right direction. If you have any questions at all, I’m here to help!
I hope this mini guide has been helpful as you navigate the wedding planning process.
