I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, one of the best things you can do for yourself after you’re engaged is hire a wedding planner. I know it doesn’t fit into every person’s budget, but if it fits into yours, it is worth the investment. Furthermore, I was lucky enough to be able to do a shoot alongside the talented Utah wedding planner Britt Warnick from Britt Warnick Designs. Britt is a true designer at heart and knows what high-stress situations to prepare for and how to manage them. She says that all weddings require design, management, coordination and execution. With her expertise, you’ll avoid costly mistakes and wasted time. Britt’s website is linked here if you’re interested in seeing more of her gorgeous work.
Q: What kinds of services do you offer? (Month of coordination,
full-service planning, or à la carte planning)?
A: I offer full planning and design, design and coordination, and wedding management.
Q: How many meetings do you generally have with your couple?
A: For full planning clients, I start with an initial meeting and have as many extra
meetings as needed.
Q: Can you walk me through the process of selecting other vendors
and how the couple is involved with that?
A: I start by putting together a budget and figuring out the couples style. I then find vendors that fit both within their budget range and cohesive with their aesthetic. Then I will reach out to the vendors for availability and the client concludes the final vendor that we choose.
Q: Do you handle the invitations, from wording and ordering to the
addressing and mailing?
A: I find and hire an invitation designer and I assist with wording, ordering and design.
Q: Do you coordinate delivery, arrival and set up times with the
photographer, the florist, the musicians and the caterer/banquet
manager?
A: Yes, I do all timelines and coordinate logistics with all vendors. I do this to make sure everybody knows where they are supposed to be, what they are supposed to be doing, so that everything runs smoothly.
Q: How many people on your staff will be at the wedding/event?
A: I am personally at every wedding and I bring 2-3 members of my team as
needed.
Q: How many weddings have you planned?
A: I take on about 4-5 weddings every year.
Q: What was the most unique wedding you ever planned?
A: I planned an intimate wedding on the Amalfi Coast in Positano, Italy.
Q: How many weddings are you generally working on at the same
time? Does it just depend on the season?
A: I am usually working on 2-3 weddings during summer, it does fluctuate around the year.
Q: Is wedding planning your full time job?
A: Yes.
Q: What is the average size wedding that you plan?
A: Average size is 100 guests with a $60,000 budget.
Q: Do you have preferred vendors?
A: Yes, I have an extensive vendor list that has vendors to accommodate all budgets, styles and preferences.
Q: Do you offer payment plans?
A: Yes, I require 50% retainer and everything else is spread out throughout the rest of the planning process.
